Wedge

Psst, can you hear the hum of the tube amps turned up full? I think it’s about to start. Fuzz rock – named after the effect that made the guitar immortal on Satisfaction – and related stuff is on offer. The sixties beckon from the garage, Led Zep and the remnants of the Purples stand by the wayside, nodding approvingly. The Doors didn’t have a bass player, but the organist kept playing a Fender Rhodes piano bass; Wedge don’t have an organist, but the bass player keeps playing an organ at the ready. So in the end everything balances out again. Yin and Yang. It gets loud, ecstatic, a little trippy and sometimes sprawling.
Batik shirts and bell-bottoms please.
